Scan Part with Zivid

How this works

Open a saved project, or start a new one.
Capture the part from several angles with the machine camera; shots merge in KUKA BASE.
Load the as-printed CAD and auto-align it onto the scan.
Verify with the heat maps, then download the milling STEP in robot or bed coordinates.

The camera, its calibration, the robot model and the machine bed live behind the cog in the header. They are set once per machine, not per job.

Pick the KUKA model carrying the scanner. The arm renders in the 3D viewer and follows the live controller; without an OPC UA link it poses from the manually entered flange coordinates (estimated).

1. Capture point cloud

Camera rides the flange. By default the live KUKA flange pose is read automatically at each shot. Capture from several angles and they merge in KUKA BASE.

For best results, overlap each new angle by about one third with the previous one.

Fast: quicker, smoother (2x2 binning). High: full sensor detail — can take up to 2 minutes per shot; stay on this page until it finishes.

2. Load the as-printed CAD

The STEP of the part you printed. It drives the alignment and the print-accuracy heat map — the scan itself is never re-uploaded.
